WILL EXPERIENCE subsea expo
Foresea your future
ForeSEA Your Future event brings a new approach to the now traditional STEM day for senior pupils at Subsea Expo, and a parallel programme for college and university students.
Upon arrival at Subsea Expo pupils will be welcomed to the event before taking part in STEM activities. At Subsea Expo 2024, pupils were treated to a fantastic presentation by Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock, who shared her love of science with the students.
Known as the BBC’s ‘face of space,’ Dr Aderin-Pocock is the presenter of the astronomical institution The Sky At Night. Her TV and radio appearances include regular pieces on BBC Breakfast, Doctor Who Confidential, BBC Radio 4, BBC 2: The Cosmos – A Beginner’s Guide (2007), Channel 5: Big, Bigger, Biggest Telescopes (2009) among many others. In 2009, she was awarded an MBE for services to science and science education.
The ForeSEA Your Future event gives senior pupils who have an interest in the energy sector the opportunity to interact with global companies.
Students will be touring the exhibition space to find out more about the underwater industry as well as taking part in a Q&A session with a range of young professionals who will be sharing their routes into industry and describing the roles available. For college and university students the programme offers an excellent opportunity to hear first-hand from young professionals working in the industry and how their careers have progressed.
